Chow Chee Yong graduated with a BFA (Honours) degree in Photography in 1994 from Western Michigan University, USA. In 1998, he received the JCCI Art Scholarship, which brought him to Musashino Art University, Tokyo, Japan where he received his MA (Distinction) degree in Photography. He has participated in more than 40 solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums in China, Hong Kong, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and the United States of America.
His works have been featured in publications such as Nippon Camera, Asahi Camera & Photographs by the Next Generation: Young Portfolio (Japan), Resonance – Songs of our Forefathers (Singapore), among many others. He was featured in Channel News Asia’s Primetime program – Asia Exposed in 2010 and was the first and only Singaporean among 15 photographers from around the globe to be recognised and incepted as one of “2011 Loweprofessionals”. His original prints can be found in a number of museums, galleries and private collections in various countries. Besides being an image-maker, he has been in Jury Panels, Curator, Mentorship programs, and Speaker at Conference/Seminars.
He is currently a Senior Manager with the BeyonDesign Centre and a Senior Lecturer teaching photography in the Department of Communication Design at Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Design (Singapore).
